Support Group Ministry Roles

Team Leader


The Team Leader is responsible to the Pastor for the oversight of the Support Group Ministry including the selection and development of individuals to perform in the various roles necessary for the selection, development and delivery of programmatic approaches to healing and spiritual growth. Additionally this role will be responsible for producing an annual budget proposal and administering the budget throughout the year. The team leader will coordinate activities of the various roles within the team, provide teambuilding support and provide an effective and efficient program delivery. This role will coach others in leadership function and train an alternate Team Leader to support these functions. This position requires substantial facilitative skills, strong team development and leadership skills and a background check.


GriefShare Facilitator


The Grief Share Facilitator will be responsible for the delivery of the GriefShare Program. This Facilitator will oversee structured discussions and show videos within the parameters of the Grief Share Program structure. Any deviance from the structure must be preapproved by the Support Group Team Leader in advance. Facilitators are restricted from counseling or giving advice other than to refer to program materials or refer to qualified counselors. Requirements to fulfill this role include the experience of loss by death of a loved one, attendance at least one full session of the GriefShare Program, facilitative and leadership skills and a background check


DivorceCare Facilitator


The DivorceCare Facilitator will be responsible for the delivery of the DivorceCare Program. This Facilitator will oversee structured discussions and show videos within the parameters of the DivorceCare Program structure. Any deviance from the structure must be preapproved by the Support Group Team Leader in advance. Facilitators are restricted from counseling or giving advice other than to refer to program materials or refer to qualified counselors. Requirements to fulfill this role include the experience of divorce or a near-divorce situation, attendance at least one full session of the DivorceCare Program, a background check and facilitative skills.

Celebrate Recovery Program Director


The Program Director is responsible to the Support Group Team Leader and the Pastor for the oversight of the Celebrate Recovery Program including the selection and development of individuals to perform in the Program Leadership Team and Program Volunteers. Additionally this role will be responsible for producing an annual budget proposal and administering the budget throughout the year. The Program Director will coordinate activities of the various roles within the team, provide teambuilding support and assure an effective and efficient delivery. This role will coach others in leadership function and train an alternate Program Director to support these functions. Disposition requires ongoing pursuit of recovery through the Celebrate Recovery Program and completion of a Step Study.


Celebrate Recovery Leadership Team Member


The Leadership Team Members are responsible to the Program Director for the oversight of the various Celebrate Recovery Program components which at times will include oversight of the Program Volunteers. Leadership Team Members must be acquainted with and willing to perform all of the various functions required to support the Celebrate Recovery Program including facilitation of various training components, leading discussion groups, organizing and overseeing Program Volunteers, greeting attendees, preparing for meetings, cleaning up for meetings, kitchen and food service duties and any other tasks required by the Program Director . This position requires ongoing pursuit of recovery through the Celebrate Recovery Program and completion of a Step Study.
